This project supports the main program of PHILFIDA on abaca area expansion, rehabilitation and disease management. It is part of a larger PHILFIDA program on enhancing the Agency’s capability for a more effective and efficient delivery of virus detection services. This proposal is the Phase II of the recently concluded DA-BAR-BIOTECH funded project (R1406) that aims to package and validate the developed LAMP detection techniques for abaca viruses. The project is expected to deliver a LAMP kit readily available to end-users including PhilFIDA Diagnostic Laboratories, BPI-Quarantine and other interested clients who are interested in the possible commercialization of the developed kit.
